224            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS           [Feb. 2,

Sec. 1, in line 6, strike out all after the word "provided,"
and insert "that nothing therein contained shall he construed
to prejudice the rights of any purchaser for valuable consid-
eration, without notice or any bona fide judgment, creditor
or mortgagee, without notice, where interest or rights may
have accrued since the execution and acknowledgment of the
said deed, and provided that the said deed he recorded within
two months from the passage of the act;"

Which were assented to.

The said bill as amended, was then read the second time.

The bill entitled, an act to make a general index of judg-
ments rendered in Somerset county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to authorise the agents or officers
of corporations to make affidavit to the consideration of mort-
gages and bills of sale;

Being upon its second reading;             

On motion of Mr. Thruston,
Said bill was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

The bill entitled, an act to authorise William Johnson, a
free negro of Calvert county, to dispose of his real and per-
sonal estate, by last will and testament;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act for the relief of Joshua Brown, of
Anne Arundel county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to authorise incorporated churches,
corporations and religious societies, to sell and convey their
property;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to refund to Walter P. Snow, ad-
ministrator of Edward D. Martin, late clerk of the Circuit
Court for Worcester county, and to Geo. B. Gray, late Regis-
ter of Wills for the same county, certain sums of money erro-
neously paid into the Treasury;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
