The bill entitled, an act for the relief of Thomas S. Beall,
surviving executor of Aquilla Beall, former clerk of Prince
George's county Court;

Was read the second time, and ordered to he engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to define the meaning of the word
"resident" in Article 1, section 1, of the Constitution,

Being upon its second reading,
On motion of Mr. Alexander,

Said bill was made the order of the day for the 8th day of
February.

The Senate bill entitled, an act to change the name of Tal-
bot Clark;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act requiring the Surveyor of Allega-
ny county to have an accurate copy made of the record hooks
in said surveyor's office, in which are recorded the certificates
of surveys made by Benj. Vaughan, former surveyor of said
county, and to provide the rates of compensation for said
work;

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The Senate bill entitled, an act to authorise the clerk of
the Circuit Court for Howard county, to make new indexes of
all the land and chattle records in his office in the manner
prescribed by law;

Was read the second time, and ordered to he engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to legalize the election and acts of
the present Burgess, assistant Burgess and Commissioners
of the town of Boonsboro', in Washington county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to he engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed of
Nathan Tyson, George Ellicott and Edward Lee to Charles
Timanus, and to authorise the recording of the same;

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Alexander proposed the following amendments:
