all the Peruvian Guano brought into this market, for which
he has been paid the sum of (15) fifteen cents per ton of
2240 lbs. He employs under him competent weighers as
may be required who are duly sworn. In the weighing of a
cargo, four persons are required at the scale, to wit: a weigher
two men to handle the bags, and one man to mark.

All the varieties of Phosphatic Guano were formerly marked
and weighed by Mr. Wm. Gould, Jr., a sworn weigher, for
which he was paid the sum of (20) twenty cents per ton, and
at present the undersigned has these varieties weighed by the
employment of Mr. Gould and other weighers, as may be ne-
cessary at $2.50 per day, and the hands at $1.25 per day,
while engaged in said service.

In. addition to the expenses connected with the weighing
there is rent of office at $250 per year. Salary to clerk
(Wm. C. Martin,) $800 per year, whose duty under the law
is to take charge of the record books of Analysis, and furnish
certified copies of the same, attend to the current business of
the office in the absence of the inspector and such other matters
as may be required. Also, porter's wages at $4 per month,
who attends to cleaning office, making fires, &c, boy em-
ployed in marking Mexican Guano, as barrelled and other-
wise at $2.00 per week, with other current expenses of the
office, to wit: advertising, printing, copper stencils for mark-
ing, marking materials, fuel, and other incidental expenses
necessarily connected with such an establishment.

Speaker of the House of Delegates:

Sir:—The Medical Superintendent of the Maryland Hospi-
tal for the Insane, respectfully invites the Speaker of the
House of Delegates, and all the members of the House who
intend to be in Baltimore next Saturday, to visit the Hospital
at 10 o'clock A. M., on that day.

Members who cannot make it convenient to accept the in-
vitation on the day named, are invited to visit the Hospital
whenever it will suit their convenience.
