Add at the end of section 15, the words, "and the said
duties shall be performed by the said bailiff, subject to the
control of the Commissioners;''

Which was assented to.

The said bill as amended was then read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to authorise the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore county, to borrow a sum of money, and
to make the levy therein named;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to make valid the acts of Hiram
McCullough, as Commissioner under the act of 1828, chapter
165;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled, an act to make valid and effectual
a bill of sale from Henry Cassell, late of Carroll county, de-
ceased, to Daniel Woodyard;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed, for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to authorise the Commissioner of
the Land Office to make such correction in the courses or out-
lines of the tract of land called "Love in a Village," both in
the original certificate of survey and in the patent thereof, as
shall make the same correspond with the original plat on file
in said office;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled, a supplement to an act passed January
session, 1853, entitled, an act to regulate Pilotage;

Being upon its second reading,

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city,

The said bill was made the special order of the day for
Tuesday, 9th day of February.

The bill entitled, an additional supplement to an act entitled
an act to provide for the speedy collection of State and county
taxes in Baltimore county, and for other purposes, passed at
January session, 1854, chapter 139;

Being upon its second reading,                                     

Mr. Magruder proposed the following amendments:
