180             JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 28,

The bill entitled, an act to regulate the compensation of the
Judges of the Orphans' Court of Baltimore city;                         

Was taken up for consideration, and

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city,

Was reconsidered to its second reading.

Mr. Alexander moved to amend said bill by striking out
the words "passage of this act" in line 2, section 1, and in-
sert "first Wednesday of November, 1859."

Mr Smith, of Baltimore city, moved to strike out the enact-
ing clause of said bill;

Pending the consideration of said amendments;
On motion of Mr. Kilbourn,

The bill was made the special order of the day for to-morrow.

The bill entitled, an act to empower the Board of Commis-
sioners of Howard county, to allow supervisors and laborers,
working on the Public Roads in said county a greater com-
pensation ;

Being upon its third reading,

Mr. Magruder moved to reconsider said bill to its second
reading;

Which was determined in the affirmative.

The bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed to Nicholas
V. Brown;

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:
 

Affirmative.
