271.  An act to re-enact a law passed at December session,
1844, chapter 278, concerning the draining of swamps and
low grounds by the laying out and opening of public ditches
in Worcester, Queen Anne's and Dorchester counties, by ex-
tending the said act to the whole State.

272.   An act amendatory of an act passed at the January
session, 1856, chapter 299, entitled, an act requiring Joshua
H. Hynes, Samuel P. Storm and Pleasant Hunter, late
sheriffs of Baltimore county, to make statements to the Comp-
troller of the amount of State taxes due from them, and to
pay the same into the Treasury at such times, and on such
conditions as are therein provided.

273. An act to alter the district line between the fifth, sixth
and ninth election districts of Cecil county.

274.   An act to authorise the County Commissioners of
Harford county to re-survey the public roads in the same
county, and to remove the obstructions therefrom.

275.  An act for the relief of Elizabeth Rutledge, and her
daughter, and Grist Youngham, of Baltimore county.

276.   An act to incorporate the Maryland Mutual Life and
Fire Insurance Company.

277.  An act to authorise the Commissioners of Charles-
town, in Cecil county, to sell to the trustees of the Methodist
Episcopal church, in said town, a certain lot of ground now
occupied by said church.

278.  An act for the relief of John H. Sansbury, of Prince
George's county.

279.   An act to incorporate the Mutual Insurance Company
of Somerset and Worcester counties.

280.  An act to authorise incorporated churches, congre-
gations and religious societies, to sell and convey their pro-
perty.

281.  An act to incorporate the Old Town Savings Institu-
tion.

282.  An act to compensate Charles J. M. Gwynn, for cases
argued in the Court of Appeals, under direction of the Gov-
ernor of Maryland.

283.  An act to authorise the Commissioners of Anne Arun-
del county to levy a sum of money for the enlargement and

repair of the almshouse of said county.
