The House met, and was opened with prayer by Rev. Mr.
Davenport.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.
Mr. Summers presented a petition of sundry citizens of
Washington county, for a new Election District to be com-
posed of parts of Election Districts No. 7 and 9 in said county;
Which was referred to the Washington county delegation.
Mr. Alexander presented a petition of J. G. Harvey and
forty-three others, produce dealers of Baltimore city, praying
for an increase of license on hawkers and pedlars;
Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.
Mr. Koons presented a petition of Noah Phillips, Samuel
Birely, D. C. Johnson and seventy-five others, praying the
extension of the charter of the Frederick and Woodsboro'
Turnpike Company, to enable them to extend said road from
its present terminus to the Carroll county line;
Which was referred to the committee on Roads and High-
ways.
Mr. Gray presented a petition of D. G. Patton and forty-
one other citizens of Washington county, praying for the re-
peal of the law exempting $10 of the laborers' money from at-
tachment ;
Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.
Mr. Todd presented a petition of Benjamin Todd, of Fred-
erick county, asking to have refunded to him certain moneys
paid into the State Treasury in error;
Which was referred to the committee on Claims.
Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition of sundry citizens of
