140             JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 25,

Court of Worcester county, to have certain record books re-
paired;

A bill entitled, an act to confer authority on the Board of
Primary School Directors, for Frederick county, to sell a pri-
mary school house in said county;

A bill entitled an act authorising the transcribing of cer-
tain records of indexes in the office of Register of Wills of
Frederick county;

A bill entitled, an act to provide for the transcribing of one
of the record books in the office of the Register of Wills for
Allegany county;

A bill entitled, an act to provide for the building of a jail
in Charles county;

Also, a bill entitled, an act to authorise the Reed Rifle
corps of the 21st regiment of Maryland Militia, to erect an
armory over the market house in Chestertown, or on the
public grounds near the Court House;

Severally endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."
Also, delivered the following Senate bills :

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the Preston Coal and
Iron Company of the State of Virginia, to purchase and hold
lands and other property in the State of Maryland, and to
exercise the powers and privileges of a corporation within the
State of Maryland, for mining and manufacturing purposes;

A bill entitled, an act to make valid and effectual an agree-
ment between the George's Creek Coal and Iron Company, and
the Cumberland and Pennsylvania Rail Road Company;

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed of Mortgage
from Robert H. Rouse and wife, of Kent county, to James
Parker Selby, bearing date the 12th day of December, in the
year 1855, and recorded among the land records of Kent
county ;

Severally endorsed, passed by "yeas and nays."
On motion of Mr. Grieves,

The rules were suspended and he offered the following
order:

Ordered, That the thanks of this House be tendered to the
State Librarian, for the disinterested interest he has evinced
in providing desks and chairs for the use of its members ;

Which was adopted.

The bill entitled, an act to prevent the circulation of notes
or bills of a denomination less than ten dollars, from and after
the first day of July eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, and of
