112              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 22,

On motion of Mr. Burgess,

Leave was granted the Charles county delegation, to report
a bill to incorporate the town of Port Tobacco, in Charles
county.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore county, offered the following or-
der:

Ordered, That the chairman of each standing committee,
be required to place at some conspicuous point in the adjoin-
ing committee room, each day, a written notice of the time
and place of meeting of their respective committees;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Stirling,

Leave was granted the committee on Judiciary, to intro-
duce a bill to authorise incorporated church congregations
and religious societies, to sell and convey their property.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communi-
cation:

To the Speaker of the House of Delegates:

The Commissioners to simplify the Pleadings and Practice,
&c., in the Courts of this State, herewith present their report
on Pleadings and Practice in Equity, to the General Assem-
bly of Maryland.
