By the Senate,

January 21st, 1858.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

The commissioners appointed under the third article, sec-
tion seventeen of the constitution, to revise simplify and abridge
the rules of practice, pleadings, forms of conveyancing and
proceedings of Courts of Record in this State, have submitted
their report on pleadings and practice in equity. We respect-
fully propose with the concurrence of your honorable body to
appoint a joint committee to examine this work and report the
same to our respective bodies at as early a day as practicable.

We have appointed Messrs. Wallace, Smith and Semmes,
on the part of the Senate.

Which was read.

Also delivered the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of the Sheriff of Kent
county.

A bill entitled, an act for the refunding of a certain sum of
money paid into the State Treasury.

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of Edward Bowers, of
Carroll county;

"Endorsed," passed by yeas and nays;

Which were severally referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Gray, presented a memorial of John Savin, praying to
be allowed to remove a negro woman from the State of Virginia
to Washington county, Maryland;

Which was referred to the committee on Colored Popula-
tion.

Mr. Reindollar, presented a petition of 125 citizens of Car-
roll county, praying the passage of a law for the protection of
mechanics of this State ;

Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Hanway, presented a petition from James Herron, Jr.,
and others, for an act incorporating the Bel Air and Frogtown
Turnpike company, in Harford county ;

Which was referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Contee, presented a petition in reference to the destruc-
tion of birds and game;

Which was referred to the committee on Agriculture.
Mr. Hobbs proposed the following message:
