Mr. Seth offered the following:

Ordered, That the presidents of the Northern Central and
Baltimore and Ohio rail roads, be requested to inform this
House whether their companies have not discriminated against
the city of Baltimore in their rates of freight;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Mackubin,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore city Passenger rail-
way company.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on the Judiciary, report-
ed unfavorably on the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from Emanuel
Bowman and others, to Amelia Dilowter.

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from Jane M.
Jones and Henrietta Pilchard, to Majer T. Hall.

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from Sewell F.
Collins and Henrietta D. Collins, his wife, to Elijah Regis-
ter.

Which report was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Welch,

The rules were suspended to enable him to present a peti-
tion from the society of Redemptorists, asking the passage of
a law refunding to them certain taxes erroneously paid by
them to the State;

Referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on the Judiciary, report-
ed unfavorably on the bill entitled, an act to authorise Ste-
phen Mills and Mary Ann Mills, of Somerset county, to make
a sale and conveyance of a house and lot of ground in said
county;

Which report was adopted.

Mr. Ford, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act to change the name of Daniel Orrick
Bosley;

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Ford,

The rules were suspended, the said bill road a second and
third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow :
