So the message was laid upon the table.
Also, the bill entitled, an act to provide for printing and
indexing the code;
Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays;"
Which was read the first time.
The bill from the Senate entitled, an act to provide for the
transmission to the Circuit court of Washington county of
certified copies of proceedings in the case of Gilmer vs. Brien,
removed from the High Court of Chancery to the Superior
court of Baltimore city, with the following amendments:
Strike out all after the enacting clause in the first section,
and in lieu thereof insert the following:
"That the clerk of the Superior court of Baltimore city be
and he is hereby directed and required forthwith to cause to
be made out, under the seal of his office, copies of all papers
and proceedings connected with the case of Robert Gilmer vs.
Brien, and now in his office, and to transmit the same to the
clerk of the Circuit court for Washington county, to be by
him recorded, and that as full faith and credit shall be given
by the Circuit court for Washington county to the said copies,
as if the same were of original record in the said court."
And the following as the 2d section :
"That the cost of such certified copies and transmission
shall be paid by the Treasurer upon the order of the Comp-
troller, and that the sum of two hundred dollars, or such
proportion thereof as may be required, is hereby appropriated
for that purpose."
