Mr. Ford offered the following order:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims is hereby directed
to issue a certificate to the Sergeant-at-arms of this House
for four hundred dollars as compensation for serving sum-
monses during the present session; and that the committee
on Claims are hereby authorised to allow the clerks appoint-
ed by the Speaker their per diem from the commencement;
and that the committee on Claims be and they are hereby
authorised to allow Thomas Mason, folder to this House, his
per diem from the commencement of present session; and that
the Porter to this House be allowed four dollars per day from
the date of his appointment;
