part and improve the road from Frederick county to the Spout
Spring, on the Hamburg road, passing Broadrup's saw mill;

Severally endorsed: "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was severally read the first time, and referred to
the committee on Corporations.

A bill entitled, an act to establish a new election district
in Dorchester county, to be called district No. 13;

Endorsed: "passed by yeas and nays ;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Dor-
chester county delegation.

A bill entitled, an act to change the name of Shalmanezer
Nuwman, to Sidney Charles Nuwman;

Endorsed: "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Som-
erset county delegation.

A bill entitled, an act to confirm and make valid a sale of
certain negroes, by Richard Simpson, executor of Rezin Simp-
son, to Charles S. Simmons;

Endorsed: "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on the Judiciary.

A bill entitled, an act to add a new section to the code of
public local laws for St. Mary's, Calvert, Howard, Kent and
Baltimore counties, entitled, an act to appoint a board of com-
missioners for the better control and management of free
colored population of said counties;

Endorsed: "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Saint
Mary's county delegation, and reported favorably upon, from
that delegation.

A bill entitled, an act to refund to Benjamin Faucett, late
collector of fifth election district, of Montgomery county,
monies overpaid into the State Treasury;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Claims.
