The said resolutions were then sent to the Senate.

On motion,

The rules were suspended, and leave was granted Messrs.
Harding, Ford and Briscoe, to introduce a bill for the im-
provement of the grounds of the Maryland Hospital.

Mr. Eakle proposed the following resolution :

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, that the
Adjutant General be and he is hereby ordered to furnish Cap-
tain McCoy, of the Rohrersville Union Guards, fifty Minnie
muskets, with the necessary accoutrements, from the quota
due the State from the General Government, for the year
1859, upon his giving security for their safe keeping and re-
turn, when required by the State ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Mackubin presented a petition from James Revell,
asking compensation for services rendered the State, in argu-
ing before the Court of Appeals of Maryland, certain cases
therein mentioned, by appointment of His Excellency the
Governor;

Which was referred to the committee on Claims.
