on the bill entitled, an act to facilitate the collection of tolls
on the Frederick and Harper's Ferry Turnpike Road;

Mr. Durant, from a special committee, reported favorably
on Senate bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Clifton
Manufacturing company, of St. Mary's county;

Mr. Gorsuch, from a select committee, reported favorably
the bill entitled, an act to incorporate a company to be known
as the Deer Park and Westminster Railroad company;

Which was read the first time and referred to the commit-
tee on Corporations.

Mr. Durant, from a special committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to authorise the county commis-
sioners of St. Mary's county, to cause an amount to be levied
to pay Thomas Posey, for the loss of his slave William;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stake, from a special committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act relating to wild fowl, in Washington
county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Burgess, acting chairman of the committee on Ways
and Means, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to
provide for the general valuation and assessment of property
in this State;

Which was read the first time, and made the order of the
day for Monday, the 5th of March.

Mr. Briscoe, acting chairman of the committee on the
Judiciary, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to
add a section to article 59 of the code of public general laws
relating to marriages;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act for the benefit of James
Maurice, Thomas B. Bourne and Margaret Louisa Bourne
his wife, and others;

Which were severally read the first time.
