Mr. Mackubin, from the committee on Claims, reported fa-
vorably on the bill entitled, an act to compensate William J.
Jones, for the trial of a certain case in the Court of Appeals,
as counsel for the State, by appointment of the Governor;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of
money for the payment of the claims of Dennis H. Maynard,
Thomas J. Keating, Joseph H. Skinner, John Schofield, J.
E. Sullivan, Edwin W. Duvall, N. J. Worthington, George
Dutton, Samuel S. Riley, N. Brewer, the Annapolis Gas
Light company, Thomas Ireland and George Jacobi;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Long, from the committee on Ways and Means, report-
ed favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to enable
James Murray to complete his collections as late commission-
er of the land office;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 28th article
of the code of public general laws, relating to the county
commissioners, by adding thereto the following section, giv-
ing power to the county commissioners to reduce assess-
ments;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Long, from the committee on the Judiciary, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act to make valid a bill of
sale from Lott Norris to George Cline;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Routzahn, from a select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to authorise and empower the
trustees of primary school district No. 31, in Frederick
county, to sell and convey the present school house, and ap-
ply the proceeds of the sale to the erection of another school
house in a more suitable place;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Bayless, from a special committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled,, an act to make valid a deed from James
Standiford and wife, to John H. Mitchell, trustee;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Naill, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act to amend the 24th section of 6th article
of the code of public general laws relating to enticing minors
and apprentices from their parents or masters, by making the
same applicable to minors at schools or colleges, and to add
