646             JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 29,

Alfred A. Duhamel, late sheriff of Queen Anne's county,
for the collection of fees.

On motion of Mr. Linthicum,

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for con-
sideration the bill entitled, an act for the relief of John Tub-
man and others;

Said bill being upon its second reading;
Mr. Linthicum moved a call of the House.
Upon the call of the roll;
On motion of Mr. Krafft,

The Doorkeeper was ordered to notify the absent members
to give their attendance.

On motion of Mr. Ford,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the regular
business of the session during the absence of the Door-
keeper.

Mr. Maxwell, acting chairman of the committee on Cor-
porations, reported unfavorably on the Senate bill entitled, an
act to amend the 8th article of the code of public local laws,
by adding thereto a section for the protection of the naviga-
tion on the Susquehanna river;

Mr. McAllister, from a select committee, reported favora-
bly on the bill entitled, an act to amend article 4 of the code
of public local laws, by adding thereto the following new sec-
tion, relating to the crier of the Superior court for Baltimore
city;

Which was read the first time.

The Doorkeeper having returned, reported that he had no-
tified the absent members to give their attendance.

The House resumed the consideration of the bill entitled,
an act for the relief of John Tubman and others;

Said bill was then read the third time, and passed by yeas
and nays as follow:
