code of public local laws, by adding thereto the following
sections relating to the better government of the free negro
population of Anne Arundel county;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend article 70 of the
code of public general laws, by adding thereto the following
sections, and amending the 5th section thereof;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Welch, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act to add the following sections relating
to the compensation of the sheriff of Anne Arundel county,
to article 2d of the public local laws;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act for the benefit of public
schools in Anne Arundel county;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to add the following sec-
tions to article 2d of the code of public local laws relating to
intoxicating liquors in the 1st, 3d and 8th election districts
of Anne Arundel county;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Goldsborough, chairman of the committee on Corpora-
tions, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to in-
corporate the Gwynn's Falls and Reisterstown Railroad com-
pany;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to authorise the city of
Baltimore, to issue her bonds for the purchase of a certain
part of the Pittsburg and Connellsville Railroad;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Legg, from a select committee, reported favorably on
Senate bill entitled, an act to authorise and empower the
trustees of the Methodist Episcopal church, known as the
Hall's Cross Road's Methodist Episcopal church, in Queen
Anne's county, to sell and convey the church lot upon which
the said church is built, and to invest the proceeds thereof
in the purchase of another lot and to build a new house of
public worship;                                                       

Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act to amend the 72d sec-
tion of article 17 of the code of public local laws in relation
to elections, in Queen Anne's county;

Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act to amend the seventh
section of article 97 of the code of general laws relating to
wild fowl, so far as it relates to Queen Anne's county;

Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act to extend the time of
