Mr. Mackubin, chairman of the committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to com-
pensate Joseph M. Palmer for professional services rendered
under appointment of the Governor, in the cases of the State
vs. George Hope, and the State against George Otto, in the
Circuit court for Carroll county ;

Also, on the Senate bill entitled, an act to appropriate a
sum of money to pay Charles S. Middleton, clerk of the Cir-
cuit court for Prince George's county, for certain fees due him
from the State ;

Also, on the House bill entitled, an act to compensate R. R.
Boarman and Richard Grason, for professional services ren-
dered by appointment of Judge Price, in the trial of the case
of the State vs. Patterson ;

Which were severally read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Morgan,

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for con-
sideration, the bill entitled, an act to provide for disposing
of the State tobacco warehouses.
