Mr. Turner, of Baltimore city, presented a petition from
the American Fire Insurance company, asking for an increase
of directors;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Long presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Somerset county, praying that a Ferry may be established near
Shelltown, in Somerset county;

Referred to the Somerset county delegation.

Mr. McAllister presented a petition from the trustees of
the Reformed Presbyterian church of Baltimore;

Referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Mr. Naill presented a petition from William Mallon, an
old soldier, praying for a stand of arms ;

Referred to the committee on the Militia.
On motion of Mr. Morgan,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to report a bill
to refund to William B. Goddard, of St. Mary's county, a
sum of money erroneously paid into the Treasury.

On motion of Mr. Gordon,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to intro-
duce a bill to annul the 30th article, section 82, of the gene-
ral code relating to indictments.

Mr. Morgan offered the following:

Ordered, That when this House adjourns, it adjourns to
next Monday, at 12 o'clock, M.
