said county ;

Which was read the first time.

Also, unfavorably on the bill entitled, an act to amend the
172nd section of the 4th article of the code of public local
laws, relating to the pay of the judges of the Orphans court
of the city of Baltimore.

Mr. Mackubin, chairman of the committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act appropriating a
sum of money for the payment of the claims of the Annapolis
Gas Light company, Madison Brown, Thomas Robson, John
H. Thompson and George W. P. Smith ;

Which was read the first time.

Also, on the Senate bill entitled, an act to refund to James
Harrison, Jr., former collector of Talbot county, a sum of
money therein named, being an over payment of State taxes
into the Treasury.

Mr. Freaner, chairman of the committee on Elections, sub-
mitted a report in relation to the contested seats of the Balti-
more city delegation ;

Also, a report in the case of Kerr vs. Gaither ;

Which were read, and on motion of Mr. Chaplain, three
thousand copies ordered to be printed.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the resolutions author-
izing the Governor to present Col. Dixon S. Miles with a
sword;

The rules were suspended, and the bill entitled, an act for
the relief of the sureties on the bond of John D. Nabb, for-
mer State tax collector of Talbot county:
