The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills:

The bill entitled, an act to add the following section to ar-
ticle 2nd of the public local laws, fixing the compensation of
jurors of Anne Arundel county ;

The bill entitled, an act confirming the action of the Cum-
berland and Pennsylvania Railroad company, in construct-
ing a road along Neff's Run ;

The bill entitled, an act to authorize the clerk of the cir-
cuit court for Kent county to procure a suitable book, and
transcribe therein the indexes in Liber J. N. G., No. 1, one
of the chattel record books for Kent county;

The bill entitled, an act to refund to the Society of the Re-
demptorists, certain sums of money for State taxes erro-
neously paid by them;

The bill entitled, an act authorizing William H. Ross, of
Talbot county, to construct a wharf on the navigable waters
of Choptank river;

The bill entitled, an act to authorize the Surveyor of Alle-
gany county to copy one of the books of his office ;

The bill entitled, an act to amend the 203rd section of the
21st article of the code of public local laws, relating to the
number of justices of the peace in district No. 5 in Washing-
ton county ;

The bill entitled, an act to authorize the Superior court of
Baltimore city to pass a decree for the sale of certain real es-
tate belonging to the trustees of the First Society of the New
Jerusalem Church in the city of Baltimore, and others ;

_ The bill entitled, an act to carry into effect the will of Wil-
liam Brown, deceased, of the city of Baltimore ;

Severally endorsed: "passed by yeas and nays."

On motion of Mr. Brown, at 10¼ o'clock the House ad-
journed until to-morrow morning at ten o'clock.
