Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Claims.

Mr. Briscoe, from a special committee, reported the bill en-
titled, an act to amend the code of public local laws of Caro-
line county, relating to schools, by adding thereto the follow-
ing sections;

Also, the bill entitled, an act to amend the code of public
local laws of Caroline county, by repealing section 181, rela-
ting to schools, and substituting therefor the following;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Barnard, from a special committee, reported the bill
entitled, an act to authorise the formation of a new election
district in Allegany county;
Which was read the first time.

Mr. Krafft, from a special committee, reported the bill en-
titled, an act to make valid the plan or agreement for the
government of Saint Bartholomew's church, in Baltimore
city;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Ford, from a special committee, reported the bill
entitled, an act to refund to Thomas E. Gittings, of Balti-
more county, State taxes erroneously paid;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Claims.

Also, on the bill entitled, an act authorising the commis-
sioners of Baltimore county, to refund to Thomas E. Gittings,
county taxes erroneously paid;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Claggett, from a special committee, reported the bill
entitled, an act to appropriate a sum of money to Joseph M.
Ebberts, for services rendered to the State, in appointing
patrol under the order of the Governor, and for personal ser-
vices rendered under said order on the Pennsylvania and Po-
tomac lines, on the 29th and 30th days of October, 1859;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Claims.

Mr. Turner, of Howard, from a special committee, reported
on the bill entitled, an act to repeal the 67th section of article
13 of the code of public local laws relating to the duties of
inspectors of primary schools in Howard county.

Which was read the first time.
