Also, a petition from four hundred citizens of Baltimore,
against the enactment of any laws affecting the free negroes
of this State at the present session;

Referred to the committee on Colored Population.

Mr. Ford presented a remonstrance from four hundred citi-
zens of Baltimore against the passage of the bill relative to
the colored population, reported by the chairman of the com-
mittee on Colored Population;

Referred to the same committee.

Mr. McAllister presented a memorial from fifty-one citizens
of Baltimore, favoring and praying for a three-cent passenger
railway in the city of Baltimore;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Freaner presented a petition from David Beeler and
others, praying for protection from woollen fabrics manufac-
tured in other States;

Referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Wilson, of Cecil, presented a petition from I. J. Lort,
and fifty other citizens of Cecil county, asking for the repeal
of so much of the general law as relates to the shooting at
ducks on the Elk, Bohemia and Sassafras rivers, from sink
boats;

Referred to the Cecil county delegation.

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county, presented a memorial
from a large number of citizens of Baltimore county, in fa-
vor of the passage of a law for the protection of ducks;

Referred to the committee on Wild Fowl.

Mr. Legg presented a petition from Thomas Ashcom and
others, citizens of the town of Centreville, praying for the
passage of an act to authorise the opening of an alley in said
town;

Also, a petition from G. T. Magee and others, praying for
the repeal of a law passed in 1792, prohibiting the raising of
hogs in the town of Centreville:

Severally referred to the Queen Anne's county delegation.

Also, a petition from Madison Brown, clerk of Queen
Anne's county, asking the payment of fees due him by the
State;

Referred to the committee on Claims.
