The House met pursuant to adjournment. Present at the
call of the roll the following members:

Johnson, Salmon, Naill, Wilson, of Har., McCoy, Straughn,
Goldsborough, Booze, Seth, Berry, McAllister, Smith, Tur-
ner, of Baltimore city, Denison, of Baltimore city, Eakle,
Brining, Freaner, Stake, Beall, McCleary, Gorsuch and Tur-
ner, of Howard.
The House resumed the consideration of the unfinished
business of the morning's session, being the bill entitled, an
act to carry into effect the 8th section of the act entitled, an
act for the promotion of internal improvements, passed at
December session, 1835, chapter 395 ;
The question being upon the amendment proposed by Mr.
Freaner, to appropriate three hundred and fifty-three thou-
sand dollars to works of internal improvements in Washing-
ton county;
Mr. Landing moved a call of the House ;
Upon the call of the roll,
Mr. Landing moved that the Doorkeeper be sent after the
absent members; when,
On motion of Mr. Parran,
All further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
Mr. Kilbourn moved to lay the substitute on the table ;
