Myers, convicted of kidnapping, for recovering fugitives, the

On motion of Mr. Dennis, of Somerset,
Was laid over informally.

Mr. Mackubin, chairman of the committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act for the relief of
J. E. Huntt, J. W. Blackburn, John M. Frazier, William
Bigham, Samuel T. Adams and others, for services rendered
as clerks in the tobacco warehouses, in the city of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time.

Also, on Senate bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum
money to pay for the frame to the painting illustrating the
surrender of General Washington of his commission, as Com-
mander-in-Chief of the Army of the American Revolution;

Also, unfavorably on the petition of Lewis Gootee.

Mr. Goldsborough, chairman of the committee on Corpo-
rations, reported favorably on the bill entitled, a supplement
to the first section of an act entitled, an act to incorporate
the Junior Fire company, of Frederick city, in Frederick
county, passed March, 1839, chapter 303;

Also, on a bill entitled, an act to authorise the mayor and
city council of Baltimore to build a bridge over Jones' Falls,
at North avenue;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Balti-
more and Liberty Turnpike company;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Curtis'
Creek Bridge company;

Also, on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Young
Mens' Christian Association of Baltimore;

Which were severally read the first time.

Also, on the Senate bill entitled, an act to incorporate a
company for erecting a bridge over Choptank river, at or near
Dover's Ferry;

Also, on the Senate bill entitled, an act to amend the act
of 1826, chapter 123, entitled, an act to incorporate the Bal-
timore and Ohio Railroad company;

Mr. Maxwell, from the committee on Corporations, report-
ed favorably on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
village of Rising Sun, in Cecil county, Maryland;
