and Means.

On motion of Mr. Compton,

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for con-
sideration the bill entitled, an act to repeal sections 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, of article 97 of the code of public general laws, under
the title of wild fowl, and to add the following sections;

Said bill being upon its second reading;

Mr. Compton proposed the following amendment:

Amend section first, by inserting, after the figure "one,"
in first line of said section, the words: "Be it enacted by the
General Assembly of Maryland, that;"

Which was concurred in.

Mr. Lawson proposed the following amendment:

Additional section:

"Section 13. And be it enacted, That Somerset county is
exempted from the provisions of this act;"

Mr. Maxwell proposed to insert "Cecil county," and

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county, to insert "Baltimore
county," in the amendment proposed by Mr. Lawson;
