reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to amend the
535th, 536th, 537th, 538th, 539th, 548th and 549th sections
of the 4th article of the code of public local laws, so as to
make the office of inspector and corders of fire wood ap-
pointive, and to regulate the inspection and cording of fire
wood;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stake, from the committee on Corporations, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
Brother's Relief Division, No. 136, Sons of Temperance, of
Carroll county;

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Chaplain,

The rules were suspended and the bill for the further sup-
pression of Lotteries, was made the order of the day for
Saturday next.

Mr. Stake, from the committee on Corporations, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act to revive the act of in-
corporation of the town of New Windsor, passed December
session, 1843, chapter 47;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Goldsborough, chairman of the committee on Corpora-
tions, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to in-
corporate the Patuxent Steam Navigation company;

Which was read the first time.
On motion of Mr. Bryan,

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for con-
sideration the bill entitled, an act to amend the 12th, 14th,
15th and 16th sections of the 41st article of the code of pub-
lic general laws, so as to change the time of fishing in the
Potomac river, to prohibit persons from fishing with seines
or gill nets opposite the shores of the owner or occupier of
any fishery, to provide for a proper enforcement of the pro-
visions of the said sections, and to define the rights of bona
fide citizens of the counties bordering on said river;

The said bill was read the second time, when,
On motion of Mr. Bryan,

It was made the order of the day for Monday next.

Mr. Long, chairman of the select committee on the survey
of the boundary line between Maryland and Virginia, made
a report:
