Frederick county, praying that certain trespasses therein enu-
merated shall be made penal offences;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.
On motion of Mr. Ford,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to bring
in a bill to prohibit certain attorneys from being employed
for defence in criminal cases.

On motion of Mr. Barnard,

Leave was granted the Allegany county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to add a new section to article 1st of the code
of public local laws, relating to justices of the peace and con-
stables.

On motion of Mr. Krafft,

Leave was granted the Baltimore city delegation to in-
troduce a bill entitled, an act concerning St. Paul's parish,
in Baltimore county;

Also, leave was granted the committee on Corporations
to introduce a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Balti-
more Union Works;

Also, leave was granted the committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
Metamora Tribe No. 1, of the Independent Order of Red
Men of the State of Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to introduce
a bill to compensate the Lafayette Guards of Baltimore city
for services rendered at Harper's Ferry during the late John
Brown raid.

On motion of Mr. Worthington,

Leave was granted the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to make valid a bill of sale in Baltimore
county;

Also, leave was granted to introduce a bill to add a new
section to 3d article in the code of public local laws, relating
to landlord and tenants in Baltimore county.

Mr. McAllister presented the petition of Chauncey Brooks
and others, asking legislation on certain matters therein men-
tioned;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.
