Mr. Welch presented a petition from sundry citizens in
Anne Arundel county, praying the passage of a law to pro-
hibit the sale of spirituous liquors in said county, to negroes
or mulattoes:

Also, a petition from sundry citizens of Anne Arundel
county, in favor of gill nets in the Patuxent river;

Which were severally referred to the Anne Arundel county

delegation.

Mr. Salmon presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Kemptown, in Frederick county, against the passage of a
law to prohibit the sale of liquor in said village;

Referred to the Frederick county delegation.

Mr. Turner, of Howard, presented a petition from John T.
Royston and others, praying the passage of a law to equalize
the charges of frieght on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad;

Referred to the select committee on that subject.

Also, a memorial from E. T. Peddicord and others of
Howard county, in reference to confining the jurisdiction of
magistrates to their respective districts;

Referred to the Howard county delegation.

Mr. Mills presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Howard and Carroll counties, praying for the appointment
of a Bark Inspector;

Referred to the Howard and Carroll county delegations.

Mr. Turner, of Howard, presented a petition from Lemuel
Warfield and others, praying the passage of a law to equalize
the charges of freight on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad;

Referred to the select committee on that subject.

Mr. Dennis, of Somerset, presented a petition from S. A
Graham and other citizens of Somerset county, praying the
passage of a law for the better protection of oysters;

Referred to the committee on Oysters and Fish.

Mr. McCoy presented a petition from R. A. Taylor and
others of the second and sixth election districts of Harford
county, to appoint a separate collector of State and county
taxes for the sixth election district, which is composed of the
town of Havre de Grace;

Referred to the Harford county delegation.
