Mr. Long, chairman of the committee on Ways and Means,
reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to amend the
7th section of article 33, of the code of public general laws,
relating to the indigent blind, and to make additional pro-
vision for their instruction;
Also, on the bill entitled, an act to amend the eightieth
article of the code of public general laws, by adding thereto
the following sections, imposing a tax on the commissions of
certain officers;
Which were severally read the first time.

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for con-
