The House then took up for consideration of further un-
finished business, when,

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for con-
sideration the bill entitled, an act to carry into effect the 8th
section of the act entitled, an act for the promotion of inter-
nal improvements, passed at December session, 1835, chapter
395.

Said bill being upon its second reading,

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

The reading was suspended, and the said bill made the
special order of the day for Wednesday next.

Mr. Jones, of Talbot, from a special committee, made a
favorably report on the bill entitled, an act to authorise the
clerk of the Circuit court for Talbot county to transcribe one
of the marriage records in his office;

Which was read the first time.

The bill entitled, an act to amend the 82d article of the
code of public general laws by exempting a certain amount of
property from execution;

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Landing proposed the following amendment:

Strike out the words "three hundred" in the second line
of the first section, and insert "one hundred and fifty."

Mr. Gordon moved a call of the House;
Which was sustained.

After the roll was called,

On motion of Mr. Gordon,

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent after the absent members.
After a brief absence, the Sergeant-at-Arms returned with
the absent members; when,

On motion of Gordon,
All further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

On motion of Mr. Jacobs.

The rules were suspended to enable him to report favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to refund to Zadock Marshall, late
collector of State taxes, in Worcester county, an over-pay-
ment made by him into the Treasury;

Which was read the first time, and by special order a sec-
ond and third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow :
