Turner, of Baltimore city, Denison, of Baltimore city, Coudy,
Eakle, Brining, Freaner, Griffith, Harding;, Gordon, Bar-
nard, Beall, McCleary, Roop, Gorsuch, Mills and Turner, of
Howard.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition from sundry citi-
zens of Caroline county, praying for more legislation on the
free negro population;

Referred to the committee on Colored Population.

Mr. McAllister presented a petition from Teresa Angela
Costello and sixty others, to be incorporated by the name of
Saint Vincent's Infant Asylum, in the city of Baltimore;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Jones, of Talbot, presented a memorial from J. H.
Harrison and others, citizens of Talbot county, to increase
the compensation of the commissioners of said county;

Also, a memorial from sundry citizens of the town of St.
Michael's, in Talbot county, Maryland, to increase the pow-
ers of the commissioners of said town;

Which were severally referred to the Talbot county delega-
tion.

Mr. Eakle presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Washington county, praying the passage of a law for the
better protection of game in Washington county;

Referred to the Washington county delegation.

Mr. Beall presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Grantsville, Allegany county, praying for an act of incor-
poration for said town;

Referred to the Allegany county delegation.

Mr. McAllister presented a petition of Frederick J. Ridga-
way to change his name to Frederick J. Cahill;

Referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Briscoe presented a petition of James S. Morrell and
others, citizens of Calvert county, praying for the passage of
a law legalizing dredging for oysters in the Chesapeake bay;

Referred to the special committee on Oysters and Fish.

Mr. Maxwell presented a petition of John A. J. Creswell
and 80 other citizens of Elkton and vicinity, asking a dona-
tion to the Elkton Academy;

Referred to the committee on Education.
