A bill entitled, an act to pay John T. Wright a sum of
money for services as assistant doorkeeper to the Senate;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Ways and Means.

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of Albert Dorney, au-
thorising the clerk of the Circuit court for Harford county
to record a certain deed;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Harford
county delegation.

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed executed by
George Warner and his wife Elizabeth to Samuel Arthur,
and recorded in liber H. S., No. 5, one of the land records of
Frederick county;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Fre-
derick county delegation.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the commissioners of
Montgomery county to levy a sum of money for the use of
Capt. French Forrest, surviving administrator of Joseph
Forrest, deceased;

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the vestry of Prince
George's parish, in Montgomery county, to hold a lot of land
not exceeding fifteen acres for a parsonage and burying
ground;

Which were referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the clerk of the Circuit
court for Talbot county to transcribe one of the marriage
records in his office;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Talbot
county delegation.

A bill entitled, an act to amend the 12th article of the code
of public local laws by adding thereto a new section chang-
ing and defining the bounds of election district No. 1 of
Howard county;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Howard
county delegation.

A communication was received from the Executive, by the
hands of his private secretary, enclosing resolutions passed
by the General Assembly of the State of New York, in rela-
tion to the re-opening of the slave trade;

Which was read.

Mr. Morgan presented a memorial from W. C. Galloway,
George Hooker and others, praying the passage of a law for
