300         JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 6,

Mr. Compton, from a select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to provide for making indices to
the land and other records in the clerk's office for Charles
county, and directing the county commissioners to levy by a
tax a sufficient sum to pay for the same;

Which was read the first time, and by special order a
second and third time, and passed by yeas and nays as fol-
low:

name of the Pittsburg and Connellsville Railroad company;
