favorably on the bill entitled, an act to authorise the Trea-
surer to pay John II. Hynes, former sheriff of Baltimore
county, a certain sum of money;

Which was read the first time.                             

Also, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to com-
pensate the members of the joint committee appointed by the
late Legislature, to examine the reports of the commissioners
to revise and codify the laws;

Which was read, and made the order of the day for Tues-
day.

Also, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to
authorise and require the Treasurer of the State of Mary-
land, to pay to David C. Blackiston, administrator of Wil-
liam H. Blackiston, late of Kent county, deceased, a sum of
money, being an over-payment into the Treasury by said ad-
ministrator;

Which was read the first time.                                     

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on Corporations, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act confirming the action of
the Cumberland and Pennsylvania Railroad company, in
constructing a road along Neff's run;                             

Which was read the first time.           

The committee on the Contingent Fund made the following
report:

The committee on the Contingent Fund, respectfully report,
that they have examined the vouchers relating to the expendi-
ture of that fund for the years 1858 and 1859, and find such
expenditure to amount to the sum of $8,182 13. This seems
to be within the annual appropriations by the sum of
$3,817 87. All of which is respectfully submitted,

Mr. Morgan, from a select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 118th section of the
18th article of the code of public local laws, relating to the
pay of the sheriff of St. Mary's county, for keeping prisoners,
by increasing said pay;

Which was read the first time, and by special order a
second and third time, and passed by yeas and nays as
follow:
