Which was referred to a special committee on division line
between Dorchester and Somerset counties.

Mr. Hoop presented a memorial of sundry citizens of New
Windsor, Carroll county, Maryland, praying the passage of
an act, renewing the act of incorporation of said town, passed
December session, 1843, and legalising any or all acts that
may have been done by its officers since the expiration of said
act of incorporation;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.             

Mr. Jones, of Prince George's, presented a petition of sun-
dry citizens of Prince George's county, praying the passage
of an act authorising a survey of the dividing lines between
Prince George's county and Anne Arundel;

Referred to the Prince George's and Anne Arundel county
delegations.

Mr. Dennis, of Somerset, presented a petition from John
Dix and sixty-one citizens, praying the passage of a law in
relation to the taking of oysters;

Also, a petition of Daniel W. Jones and 97 citizens, pray-
ing the passage of a law defining the line regulating the
taking of oysters with scoops and dredges;

Which were severally referred to the committee on Oysters
and Fish.                                                                      

On motion of Mr. Gordon,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to amend the charter of the Pittsburg and Con-
nelsville Railroad company.

Also, leave was granted the committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to legalise the building of a railroad on Neff's
run, by the Cumberland and Pennsylvania Railroad com-
pany.

On motion of Mr. Long,         

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to intro-
duce a bill entitled, an act to amend the sixty-seventh section
of the thirtieth article of the code of public general laws,
which forbids and punishes gunning on the lands of another,
by increasing the penalties.               

Mr. Long offered the following:

Ordered, That the committee on Colored Population be in-
structed to report bills as follow:
