On motion of Mr. Ford,

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an
act to amend an act to incorporate the Green Spring Avenue
company, passed January session, 1858, chapter 216;

Said bill being upon its second reading,

Mr. Denison, proposed the following amendment:

To come in after the word "Matthews," where it first oc-
curs in the ninth line, "or if said company shall elect, they
may go to a point on said Newington lane, distant thereon
thirty feet from the south side of a road already opened, and
thence by a line at right angles to said Newington lane,
through the intervening land, to the division line between
the land of Lloyd M. Rogers, and the land formerly owned
by Francis Hilberg, thence by the shortest practicable route,
to the land of Mrs. Thomas R. Matthews, aforesaid;"

Which was adopted.

Mr. Goldsborough proposed the following amendment:

Section 10, insert the words "or fruit" after the word
"grain," in forty-third line;
Which was concurred in.             

On motion of Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county,

The House reconsidered the vote by which the amendment
was assented to.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment,                                                             

It was rejected.                                               

Mr. Goldsborough proposed the following amendment:
Additional section to be termed Section 14.

"Section 14. And be it enacted, That said company shall
construct the turnpike road aforesaid from its terminus on
North avenue, to the division line of the land of Lloyd N.
Rogers, as first mentioned in this act, before making the
same through his land;"

Which was not concurred in.                             

The bill, as amended, was then read the second time, and
by special order a third time, and passed by yeas and nays
as follow:
