Also, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to re-
lease from the payment of interest, the securities on the offi-
cial bond of James W. Story, collector of taxes for Queen
Anne's county, in the year 1855 ;

Which were severally read the first time.

Mr. Coudy, chairman of the committee on Internal Improve-
ments, reported favorably upon the bill entitled, an act to add
the following sections relating to the commissioners of public
works, to article 20th of the code of public general laws, regu-
lating the meeting of the said commissioners, and punishing a
failure to meet, and authorising them to employ counsel in
certain cases ;                                         

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Compton, from a special committee, to which was re-
ferred the memorial of Bradley T. Johnson, submitted a
report;

Which was read, and made the order of the day for Thurs-
day next.

Mr. Coudy, chairman of the committee on Internal Im-
provements, reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to
add a new article to the code of public general laws, under a
title of public buildings, providing for the custody, construc-
tion or repair and completion of the public buildings of this
State;

Which was read the first time.

The bill entitled, an act to authorise the Gas Light com-
pany of Baltimore, incorporated by the act of eighteen hun-
dred and sixteen, chapter two hundred and fifty-one, to in-
crease its capital stock;

Being upon its second reading,
On motion Mr. Goldsborough,

Said bill was recommitted to the committee on Corpora-
tions:

Mr. Goldsborough, from the special committee, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, a supplement to the act en-
titled, an act for the promotion of internal improvements,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-five,
chapter three hundred and ninety-five;

Which was read the first time.
