Mr. Brining presented a petition of 150 citizens of district
No. 6, in Washington county, praying an alteration in the
mode of collecting taxes in said county, by the appointment
of collectors for each of the election districts therein ;

Mr. Stake presented a petition 36 citizens of districts Nos.
2 and 12, of Washington county, asking protection against
sheep dogs ;

Mr. Smith presented a memorial of T. Poultney and others,
asking legislation in reference to wild fowl on the waters in
this State;

praying for the passage of a law for the protection of game ;

Mr. Landing presented a memorial from G. W. Humphreys
and 30 others, praying the passage of an act granting to the
Eastern Shore counties, the balance of the one million dollars
appropriated by the act passed at December session, 1839,
chapter 223 ;

Referred to the special committee on that subject.

Mr. Smith presented a memorial of Thomas Whitridge and
James Hooper & Sons, owners of vessels and others, praying
that there may be no change in the pilot laws of this State ;

Referred to the special committee on that subject.

Mr. Jones, of Prince George's, presented a petition from
Samuel Scott, and sundry citizens of Prince George's county,
praying the passage of an act for the relief of said Scott;
