Section 20, strike out after the word "each," in first line,
to the word "election," in the second line, and insert "of
the chief or return judge;"

A bill entitled, an act to amend the 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 12, 13,
14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 28, 30, 31, 38, 44, 49 and 50 sec-
tions of the 30th article of the code of general laws relating to
elections, so as to exclude the city of Baltimore from the
operation of said sections, except as therein provided, and to
substitute therefor the following ;

Was read the second time.

Mr. Ford moved to make the bills just read a second time,
the order of the day for to-morrow.
