Mr. Goldsborough offered the following :

Ordered, That the Librarian be directed to purchase one
hundred and fifty copies of Ethan Allen's early history of
Maryland, for the use of the Library;

Which was referred to the committee on the Library.

Mr. Long offered the following:

Ordered, That each of the notaries public of the city of
Baltimore forthwith furnish to the House of Delegates the
number of protests made by each of them each mouth of the
fiscal year ending 30th September, 1859;

Ordered, That each of the banks of the city of Baltimore,
and each of the banking-houses controlled by private bank-
ers, forthwith furnish to the House of Delegates the number
of protests made for each of them during each month of
the fiscal year ending 30th September, 1859, stating how
many protests have been made by each notary public for them
for said period;

Which were severally adopted.

On motion of Mr. Beall,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the People's Pas-
senger Railway company, of Baltimore city.

Mr. Legg presented a petition from Clayton Wright and
others, praying for the further protection of wild fowl and
oysters;

Referred to the committee on Wild Fowl.
On motion of Mr. Mills,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore and Liberty Turn-
pike company, in Carroll county.

Mr. Coudy presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Washington county, praying for an act of incorporation to
make a turnpike from Leitersburg to Ringold, in Washing-
ton county;

Referred to the committee on Corporations.
Mr. Bryan offered the following :

Ordered, That Augustus Kearney be and he is hereby ap-
pointed Assistant Folder to this House;

Mr. Mackubin moved to strike out the name of Augustus
Kearney, and substitute Emanuel Dadds.

On motion of Mr. Ford,
The whole subject was laid on the table.
