212              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 28,

On motion of Mr. Maxwell,                                 

Leave was granted the committee on Claims to introduce a
bill, to compensate J. H. Pope, for services rendered to the
State.

Mr. Long from the committee on Ways and Means, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act appropriating a
sum of money for the redemption and repayment of unused
stamps, and to authorise the Comptroller to redeem the same;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Johnson, from the select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to sell and convey school house
and lot, in District No. 37, in Frederick county:

Which was read the first time, and by special order a
second and third time, and passed by yeas and nays as
follow :
