The said bill was then sent to the Senate.
Mr. Maxwell, from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to amend the
20th article of the code of public general laws, which provides for
the formation of corporations for the purchase, improvement,
sale and leasing of land in the city of Baltimore, by extend-
ing the provisions of the said section, to the whole State;
Which was read the first time.
On motion of Mr. Harding,
The rules were suspended to enable him to present a petition
from Saint Anthony's Orphan Asylum, in Baltimore city, to
confirm to them the rights acquired by their incorporation,
under the general laws of Maryland;
Also, a petition from the Associated Professors of Saint
Mary's College, in the city of Baltimore, to change the name
of their corporation, to that of the Associated Professors of
Saint Mary's Seminary, in Baltimore city, and to confirm to
them their privileges by their new name, &c;
Which were referred to the committee on Corporations.
On motion of Mr. Harding,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill, to confirm the charter of Saint Anthony's Orphan
Asylum, in Baltimore city, incorporated on the 10th of April,
1858, under the general laws of Maryland, and to enlarge
the powers of the said corporation.
On motion of Mr. Harding,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill, to change the name of the Associated Professors
of Saint Mary's College, in the city of Baltimore, to that of
the Associated Professors of Saint Mary's Seminary, in Balti-
more city, and to confirm to the said corporation by its new
name, all the rights and privileges held and enjoyed under
the old name.
