Mr. Holland presented a petition from Dr. W. V. M. Ed-
mondson, and twenty-four citizens of the town of East New
Market, in Dorchester county, praying an act of incorpora-
tion for said town;

Also, a petition from James Gore, and forty citizens of
Dorchester county, praying the passage of an act setting off
and defining a separate school district at Salem, in said
county;

Also, a petition from Thomas B. Sherman, and thirty citi-
zens of Dorchester county, praying an act to authorise said
Sherman to construct a wharf at Indian Creek, on the Great
Choptank River, in the county aforesaid:

Also, a petition from William S. Jackson, and eighty citi-
zens of Dorchester county, protesting against the passage of
an act setting off and defining a separate school district at
Salem, in the county aforesaid;
