The said bill was then sent to the Senate.

Mr. Maxwell from the committee on Corporations made a
favorable report on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
Merchants Hotel company of Baltimore city;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Turner, from a select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to empower the county commis-
sioners of Washington county, to lay off a new election dis-
trict in said county, to be composed of parts of election districts
number seven and nine, in said county, and to cause the polls
thereof to be held at Ringgold ;

Which was read the first time, and by special order a se-
cond and third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow:

The resolution authorising the Adjutant General to loan
to the Annapolis Guards, commanded by Col. William A.
Spencer, a stand of muskets sufficient to equip the same ;

Was taken up,

Mr. Kilbourn proposed the following amendment:

After the word "muskets," add, "and the necessary equip-
ments."
