On motion of Mr. Chaplain,
The rules were suspended to enable him to call up the bill
entitled, an act authorising William H. Ross, of Talbot
county, to construct a wharf on the navigable waters of the
Choptank river;
And proposed the following amendment:
"Section 8. And that this act shall take effect from the day
of its passage."
Which was adopted.
The said bill was then read a second time, and by special

Mutual Insurance company, of Washington county;

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county, moved to take up the
bill entitled, an act to repeal the 603d and 604th sections of
the 4th article of the code of public local laws, which for-
bid the purchase of vegetables and other articles, in any
of the markets of the city of Baltimore, or within ten miles
thereof, for the purpose of sale;
