to introduce a bill to incorporate the Curtis' Creek Bridge
Company.

On motion of Mr. Claggett,

Leave was granted the Frederick county delegation to intro-
duce a bill to require the clerk of the Circuit court for Fred-
erick county to make and prepare a general index to certain
land records.

On motion of Mr. McAllister,

Leave was granted the committee on Ways and Means to
introduce a bill entitled, an act to alter and amend the nine-
ty-third article of the code of public general laws.

Mr. Goldsborough offered the following :

Ordered, That the order of this House, adopted on January
23rd, directing that every officer of this House, shall perform
his duties in person and not by substitute, and that a neglect
of the same will be considered a vacation of such office, be
and the same is hereby rescinded ;

Which was lost.

Mr. Gordon, from the committee on the Judiciary, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 3rd sec-
tion of the 5th article, of the code of public general laws,
relating to appeals ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. McCoy, from a select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Conowingo and
Bel Air Turnpike Company ;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Corporations.

Mr. Wilson, of Harford, from a select committee, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 7th and
9th sections of article 97th, of the code of public general laws,
relating to the preservation of the same, so as to extend the
same to Harford county ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Worthington, from a select committee, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act to amend the 59th
article, of the public local laws, by adding a section relating
to marriages ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stake, from a select committee, reported favorably on
