in a bill amending the 59th article, of public law, by adding
a section relating to marriages.

Mr. McAllister offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on Corporations be authorised
to send for persons and papers, and examine witnesses under
oath, in relation to the City Passenger Railway in Baltimore
city; which,

On. motion of Mr. Maxwell,
Was laid upon the table.
On motion of Mr. Mackubin,

Leave was granted the Anne Arundel county delegation
to introduce a bill for the benefit of the Baltimore Episcopal
Missionary Association of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Hoop,

Leave was granted the Carroll county delegation to intro-
duce a bill authorising the board of school commissioners for
Carroll county, to allow compensation, as they in their judg-
ment may see proper, to B. W. Riley and William N.
Martin, for repairs to a certain school house in said county.

Mr. Rasin presented a memorial of sundry citizens of
Kent county, remonstrating against the passage of any laws
abridging the right of setting gill nets for shad, and taking
fish in the Chesapeake bay and its tributaries.

Referred to the special committee on Fish and Oysters.

Mr. Goldsborough, from the committee on Corporations, re-
reported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate
the Hillen Road Company, of Baltimore county;

On motion of Mr. Denison, of Baltimore county,

The rules were suspended, the said bill read a second and
third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow :
